Love cushion

Last night I made my own version of the love cushion out of an old jumper and some red felt.
I also reused the filling of an old pillow I had lying around the house. It looks cute in our living room. This reminds me that I still have to reupholster this armchair.

Pretty little hand prints

Ines & Nico had a lot of fun doing messy paint play on sunday morning. I have to say that Ines' paintings are much more successful...

La cueillette

Yesterday it was such a nice summer day that we decided to go fruit picking. Only 30 minutes drive north of Highbury in Enfield, Middlesex there is a pick your own farm called Parkside Farm. Ines and Finn ran around the fields helping our with the harvest. Good job guys!

We ended up getting around 5kg of really sweet summer fruit: strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrant. One of the baskets came with us to Maria's diner party and we had a go at it with some vanilla ice cream. Yum, yum.

What a funny looking strawberry.

Gorgonzola & Pear Tart

Barbara prepared this delicious tart for our dinner last friday night. Hassan also had a funny story to tell about the search for the pastry. H&B have a little shop around the corner from their place that sells Mediterranean products. Barbara likes to shop there and challenge the shopkeeper as to what products he has. He often doesn't have what she is looking for and says he'll order it in for her. This particular time she was looking for an Italian type of pastry for the tart. The shopkeeper (slightly annoyed) pointed at this turkish filo pastry and said that the tart would taste better with this. He was right, the tart tasted great and looked beautiful...

Tote bag with Initial

This is the little bag that I made for Eva to replace the kimono that was too small. It has 2 different fabrics and I used it to wrap her gift.

Baby Kimono

Last week end, we went to visit some friends in Manchester and I tought I would make something cute with my new sewing machine for their daughter Eva. I used a lovely pattern from Habitual. I used bits of fabric from a dress that I never wore. That's recycling for you.
Unfortunately the kimono was too small for Eva, so I'll keep it for Ines.

Cute gift wrapping

I love this wrapping paper, it is basically brown paper with a cute black flower print. I used it to wrap Beau's birthday present. Ines helped stamp his name on it.

A Pea in a Pod

My little helper is preparing the peas for tonight's diner: tagine de petits pois.
One of my favourite tagines...

Carnaval de Venezia

I finally got around to decorating the Mask we got in Venice last December.
Ines was a great help tearing all the bits of paper and glueing them down.
This is the result and we keep it in her room.

Like a fish in water

Ines loves playing with her fish collection in the basin.

Lego

Playing with this so danish invention at Louisiana.

La petite princesse

Got some felt. Made Ines a Princess Crown with my new £5 sewing machine.
I love it.

Father's day gift

Eco gift wrapping for Nico's 2009 Father's day gift. A lovely picture of Ines to take with him to the office. We spray painted this little frame found in a local charity shop.

Clay at louisiana, Denmark

We loved playing around with the clay in the workshop of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Here is some of our work... Any thoughts?

sunday afternoon crayons

Ines and I decided to make some new fun looking crayons using lots of old ones lying around in our drawers. Really easy to make. break up your old bits of crayons and place in tin. Heat for around 10 minutes and preeated oven at 180 degrees C.
Ines particulary enjoyed mixing the colours.
